Syllabus Description (from Canvas):
In this class we will read and discuss writings from the Franco- Anglo- and Hispano-creole Caribbean - and their diasporas - that explore the coming-into-being of such a thing as ‘Caribbean identity.’ Beyond this, these works interrogate the nature of modern being in the shadow of conquest, enslavement and empire.
