A study of Shakespeare’s development as a playwright: the early sonnets, narrative poems, and plays up to and including Hamlet (c. 1600) .The required text is David Bevington, The Complete Works of Shakespeare, 7^th ed.  (Pearson, 2014). Earlier editions of this book are acceptable. Only the introductions differ among these editions; the texts of the plays are identical. They can be found on line for as little as a few dollars.
