Syllabus Description:

English 198, linked to AES 151, is a small (21 students max) writing course that will explore some of the topics, readings, and concepts from AES 151 through a series of writing assignments. A collaborative, service-learning course, English 198 will place students in local organizations and use time in class to discuss and develop writing based on students' off-campus work. The content of the course will cover such topics as identity, culture, group formation, and social/political structure.

Catalog Description: 
Expository writing based on material presented in a specified social science lecture course. Assignments include drafts of papers to be submitted in the specified course, and other pieces of analytic prose. Concurrent registration in specified course required.
