Syllabus Description:

ENGL 198B is a 5-credit writing seminar linked with the lecture course PSYCH 101, Intro to Psychology (taught this quarter by Lee Osterhout). This class provides the opportunity to write on the themes and content of PSYCH 101 in more depth, and to hone skills for reading and writing in the social sciences and in the field of psychology in particular. Students will produce three major papers across genres and engage in peer review of classmates’ papers. The chief goal is to build a supportive workshop setting for writing, revising and editing.

Catalog Description: 
Expository writing based on material presented in a specified social science lecture course. Assignments include drafts of papers to be submitted in the specified course, and other pieces of analytic prose. Concurrent registration in specified course required.
