The Expository Writing Program invites proposals for Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Collaboration Grants for 2018-2019. We plan to fund collaborative group projects that focus on developing composition curriculum, teacher resources, and/or research initiatives that center issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the writing classroom. Two EWP Assistant Directors (Nanya Jhingran and Sara Lovett) are holding 1-hour workshops for EWP instructors to bring ideas and/or drafts for second-sequence prompts. In this workshop, ENGL 131 instructors workshop teaching materials including class syllabi, assignment prompts, and overall scaffolding for their second Major Project Sequence. CIC and UW Libraries Research Commons librarians, Elliott Stevens and Perry Yee, are offering a workshop on ways to incorporate digital storytelling in teaching writing or your own research.
