Syllabus Description (from Canvas):

Concepts such as language death and language birth are explored

by examining the fates of the language known as Serbo-Croatian, on the one hand,

and, on the other, of the languages known as Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin, and Serbian.

The relation between the concepts of dialect and language is analyzed. 

Notions of language politicslanguage standardization, and language emancipation 

in Southeastern Europe, in particular, and, in general, around the world are analyzed.
