ENGL 242: Belief and Doubt after the Apocalypse

We will meet in person twice a week to engage our readings: discussing, playing with, taking quizzes on, and writing about prose fiction.

The theme of this course, to which all reading material pertains, is belief and doubt after the apocalypse, that is, writing about the end of the world through a religious and secular lens. Or, we will use a religious studies lens to analyze works about the end times.

Over 10 weeks, this course will prepare you to critically engage with text, write persuasively, and research a question.
