Biography
Dr. Sylvia Yang works in ecology with focus on organism-environment interactions in intertidal marine systems. She began her investigations on eelgrass during graduate school at the University of Washington. While pursuing her doctoral degree, she discovered a passion for teaching and mentoring students at any level, including developing curriculum for and teaching high school marine science. She is a member of the faculty at Western Washington University's Shannon Point Marine Center and the UW's Friday Harbor Laboratories.
