Biography
Tim grew up in Minnesota, and completed his BA in English Language & Literature at St. Cloud State University. He moved to Seattle after graduating and spent 2 years teaching English and Social Studies at a local K-8 school. He then joined the 2005 UW MATESOL cohort as a 2-year TA and graduated in 2007. He spent the next 12 years as an instructor in the UW International & English Language Programs, teaching ENGL 101, 102, 103, and 104 as well as a variety of other English courses to multilingual learners before shifting to an administrative position providing support to a portfolio of 17 different certificate programs offered by UW Continuum College.
In his free time, he loves to travel and get outdoors-skiing, climbing, rafting, hiking, and camping. He also coaches youth basketball and umpires youth baseball games. He’s adequate on the guitar, a hack on the piano, and a novice in the kitchen.
He’s excited to be back in the English Department, and looks forward to working with you all. He is usually in A-105 on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, so please don’t hesitate to stop by.
