Syllabus Description:

English 108 is a course for anyone who wants to develop writing fluency and confidence as they prepare to tackle college composition courses. The course will build your ability to engage in college-level writing tasks, strengthen your language fluency through regular reading and classroom interaction, and teach you college-level learning and study skills.

The first part of the course focuses on both on how we human beings learn and on how to use that knowledge to become a stronger thinker and writer.  In the later part of the course you'll complete a learning-based research project that will provide hands-on experience with campus writing centers, libraries and online resources.
