Syllabus Description:

Zombies in Popular Culture 

English 348 analyzes the figure of the zombie  in popular culture. While we will examine the zombie’s diasporic West African origins, we will concentrate on its 20th- and 21st-century manifestations in literature, film, comics, and memes. 

Catalog Description: 
Explores one or more popular genres (fantasy, romance, mystery) or media (comics, television, videogames), with attention to historical development, distinctive formal features, and reading protocols. May include study of audience, reception histories, or fan cultures.
