Hsinmei Lin, an English Department Ph.D. student, been selected for the Allan and Mary Kollar Endowed Fellowship for 2017-2018. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to highly deserving full-time graduate students in the humanities, particularly American art history and American literature.
Mary and Allan Kollar established the fellowship fund to assist students who share their own interests in these two disciplines and their interconnections. They collect nineteenth-century American paintings; he is an art dealer in this area; and she is a retired educator who taught literature and creative writing to high school students.
