Teacher Talk - Fighting Falsehoods and Misinformation in the Writing Classroom

The Expository Writing Program and Critical Classrooms invites you to join Teacher Talk, Friday, January 29th from 11:00-12:15 titled: "Fighting Falsehoods and Misinformation in the Writing Classroom".

Please join us in a workshop hosted by Dr. Sumyat Thu of the English department, who works as a news literacy ambassador for Seattle with the News Literacy Project (NLP), a nonpartisan national education nonprofit,

The workshop will include:

 - educator resources for helping students identify misinformation and gather reliable sources, helping students enhance their news literacy, and fighting falsehoods on social media, etc.

 - breakout groups to further develop teaching ideas and materials, including writing assignments, lesson plans, and class activities.
