Professor Emerita Gail Stygall passed away on September 25, 2025. Our Language and Rhetoric colleagues took the initiative to write a remembrance focusing on Gail's teaching, research, and leadership both within and beyond UW.
Candice Rai and Anis Bawarshi were appointed to College-level leadership positions. Candice will serve as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, and Anis will serve as Director of the C21 Program; both positions are effective July 1, 2026.
The Praxis conference returns to UW on Friday, May 29, 2026, with a full day of panels, workshops, and roundtables under the theme "Writing With."
