Course Description:

In this course we’ll be exploring the short story, learning about what defines the form as well as working on the craft elements needed to write short stories. We’ll do this through frequent writing exercises, workshops, extensive reading, and, of course, writing our own short stories. This class will be appropriate for a variety of writing levels and experience. If you’ve never written a short story before, here’s your chance to try out the form in a supportive environment. If you’ve been writing short stories since you could hold a pen, this is an opportunity to really reexamine and hone your craft.
