Syllabus Description:

English 298 K is a small writing seminar (21 students max!) that will take up some of the issues you're exploring in LSJ 200. Basically, this is a community writing workshop. The topics we'll explore through writing include the criminal justice system and carceral institutions (prisons in particular) and their relation to various systemic inequities, particularly around race/racism, class, and citizenship status. You will have the opportunity to conference (talk with me and with your classmates and get feedback) every major writing project before submitting a final draft.

Catalog Description: 
Expository writing based on materials presented in a specified social science course. Assignments include drafts of papers to be submitted in the specified course, and other pieces of analytical prose. Concurrent registration in the specified course required. Offered: AWSpS.
