Noah Kirk: Trial By Fire: Comparing Punishment and Redemption in Inferno and Pilgrim's Progress.

My thesis compares Dante's Inferno and John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress as religious allegories. In it, I describe how several theological beliefs may have influenced the two authors and how these beliefs present themselves in the works. Similarly, I argue that examining instances of fire in these works is an efficient means by which a reader can discern the more nuanced differences in these beliefs.
