My research thesis details the corrupt Victorian ideals that men during the nineteenth-century were expected to adhere to. Through analyses on Charlotte Bronte’s most popular novels’ male characters, I highlight the ways these toxic conformities shape Victorian masculinity and how it has corrupted the lives and manliness of men during this era.
